Welcome Address by MEP Fredrick Federley (ALDE, Sweden)
MEP Fredrick Federley introduced the topic by stressing that water management has been neglected for quite some time and needs to be urgently addressed, especially in the context of increased climate change risks and raising energy demand.
He outlined that industry has already been addressing the over-use of water and has demonstrated remarkable results in terms of water reduction. He concluded that these efforts now need to be replicated across sectors and levels of governance.
