Steering Committee

Energy Solutions is represented by energy solutions makers across political parties, constituting the Steering Committee to Energy Solutions.

The Steering Committee below reflects on the pathway towards the realization of the Energy Union:

  • PETERSEN Morten - 8th Parliamentary term

Vice President to the ITRE Committee, Member of the European Parliament, President to Energy Solutions, Morten Helveg Petersen (ALDE).

»The EU has to deliver affordable, secure and sustainable energy while creating jobs and growth as well as investments to its more than 400 million inhabitants. It requires holistic solutions to energy with the potential to transform Europe. That is why we have initiated Energy Solutions«

    – Vice President to the ITRE Committee, Member of the European Parliament and President of Energy Solutions, Morten Helveg Petersen (ALDE).

  • Niebler_b&w»Energy Solutions facilitates dialogue between the political ‘creators’ of the ambition for a European Energy Union and the industrial ‘makers’ for the realization of a European Energy Union. The solution is in the holistic approach – across nations, sectors and parties with focus on consumers, market, competition, finance and technologies«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Angelika Niebler (EPP).

  • BENDTSEN Bendt – 8th Parliamentary term

»Delivering on the promise of an Energy Union requires actual deliveries from Member States – they must abandon their ego-protectionism and implement an energy market that is better connected, imports less and is better connected. In this respect, Energy Solutions is an ideal platform for exchanges on how to make optimal use of existing and new solutions and to ensure coherent and holistic energy policies to achieve the ambitions.«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Bendt Bendtsen (EPP).

  • Poche_b&w»Energy solutions are needed if we are to realize a European Energy Union. Energy Solutions is that fresh solution to the energy system«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Miroslav Poche (S&D).

  • MLINAR Angelika – 8th Parliamentary term

    »«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Angelika Mlinar (ALDE).

  • FEDERLEY Frederick Kolke – 8th Parliamentary term

    »«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Fredrick Federley (ALDE).

  • »Some stakeholders are obsessed with ‘higher ambitions’ and ‘increased targets’; yet this is actually quite irrelevant when you look at the wider problems facing the EU’s energy market. I believe we need liberalisation and competition to achieve our targets through market-based means. In Europe, we are proud of our common market and the four freedoms. We praise the benefits of regional coordination but on our entire continent only a handful countries cooperate and trade electricity freely. I believe Energy Solutions could function as an important think tank to guide and inform —————————————————–decision-makers and businesses through collaboration —————————————————- and information exchange towards the completion of the —————————————————- Energy Union«

——————————————          Member of the European Parliament, Vice President ————————————————  to Energy Solutions, Hans-Olaf Henkel (ECR).

  • Turmes_b&w»We need to speed up the energy revolution – we need to be ambitious – and we need to invest. Energy Solutions embraces synergies through the holistic approach to challenges within the energy system«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Claude Turmes (Greens).

  • Davor SKRELC – 8th Parliamentary term

    »«

Member of the European Parliament, Vice President to Energy Solutions, Davor Škrlec (Greens).

It is a pleasure to […] congratulate you as you launch the European Parliamentary Network on Energy Solutions; an initiative which I warmly welcome. I strongly believe that this kind of an integrated approach is the only one valid in the 21st century.

– Maroš Šefčovič, Vice President of the European Commission, in charge of Energy Union
