Energy Solutions Founding Fathers Top List of Most Influential MEPs

Four out of five founding members of Energy Solutions have made it onto the Top Ten Most Influential MEPs on Energy Policy, according to an analysis by VoteWatch. The analysis by VoteWatch assigns points based on various criteria, to rate the influence on energy policy amongst MEPs (Members of the European Parliament).

The European Energy Union is high on the agenda – and it truly has got a direct response with the rise of Energy Solutions. Energy Solutions scores an impressive five points in the latest rating of policy-making activities in the political capital of the EU. By comparrison, a position as Committee Vice Chair is considered 6 points.

The political capital of EU faced a tsunami of legislative proposals at the onset of the year, 2016 – a year also known as the year of delivery of a European Energy Union. As deliveries of policy proposals for an Energy Union proceeded over the months from the EU Commission, waves of legislative proposals including heating and cooling, non-ETS, energy efficiency and market design hit the European Parliament.

Early 2017 Energy Solutions picks up on the deliveries to be ready for deliberations on an Energy Union. January, Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the European Commission, in charge of Energy Union meets with  political solution-makers and industrial solution-creators for a high-level discussion on the future energy market as in important step towards and Energy Union.

Political solution-makers include MEP, Vice President to ITRE and President to Energy Solutions, Mr. Petersen along with four founding members Vice President Mrs. Niebler, Mr. Poche, Mr. Duncan and Mr. Turmes – an impressive four out of five rating on top ten most influential MEPs on Energy Policy in EU.

Industrial solution creators is represented by first-movers across the energy system including 3M, Danfoss, DONG Energy, EDF, EoN, GE, Grundfos, Microsoft, Panasonic, Rockwool, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Velux and Vestas – and more are joining!
